What happens when curious teens, inspiring community partners, and entrepreneurial thinking come together? An unforgettable day of innovation and environmental problem-solving.
On Monday, July 13, Young Entrepreneur Institute (YEI) welcomed more than 40 teens from YMCA of Central Ohio’s Summer Teen Experience programs to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center for an immersive entrepreneurial learning experience designed to inspire the next generation of changemakers. The YEI team created and facilitated the day's programming, guiding students through the entrepreneurial design cycle as they explored a timely challenge: How can young people help protect the world around them?
Students began the day learning about conservation, wildlife, and the importance of urban green spaces through interactive experiences led by the Audubon Center staff. Building on those insights, Young Entrepreneur Institute led students through a collaborative innovation process, challenging teams to identify opportunities, develop creative solutions, and pitch their ideas.
Experiences like this demonstrate the power of entrepreneurial education to help young people think critically, collaborate effectively, and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
