Students and teachers in the spotlight

Through an ongoing partnership with WCPN’s The Sound of Ideas, there is a monthly radio feature called Start-Up Kids which gives students from Northeast Ohio the chance to tell their entrepreneurial stories. This month, WCPN aired a special segment featuring four student entrepreneurs, one entrepreneurship teacher and Greg Malkin, founder and director of Young Entrepreneur Institute.

National competition for teenagers

The Consumer Technology Association is looking for rising tech superstars, ages 13-19, pursuing original projects in STEM, app development, robotics or coding. Individuals and groups are welcome to apply. Winners will be flown to Las Vegas to accept their awards, including a $2,000 scholarship, at CES on January 11, 2018. Last 10 days to enter Selling Bee!

Selling Bee video pitch contest is open to all K-8 students in Northeast Ohio. Students develop a business idea, create a short pitch, and upload a video of themselves presenting the pitch. Prizes include $100 cash, a tablet computer and gift cards. The deadline for applications is October 29. Visit for more information.

CLE high school students – win $1,000 for your idea

Open to all 9th-12th graders who live or attend school in the City of Cleveland, the Pitch St. Clair competition is an amazing opportunity for students to share their business concept for a chance to win $1,000 and business coaching.
