Due to the recent cold days, we’re giving your students more time to finish and submit their video entries. Entering is easy! Students think of an idea, film themselves pitching the idea, and complete the entry form on our website. Students have the chance to win cash, Indians tickets, and more! CELEBRATE YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The 11th annual celebration on Wednesday, April 10 will feature Graham Veysey, US class of 2000, a serial entrepreneur with a wide range of businesses in media production and consumer products.

YEI NEEDS JUDGES AND GUEST SPEAKERS

PITCH CHALLENGE JUDGES

YEI is hosting a viewing party to judge YE Pitch Challenge entries at the Microsoft Store at Beachwood Mall on Thursday, February 28th from 5:30-8:00PM. A light dinner, snacks and refreshments will be served. Laptops and headphones will be provided, and you are encouraged to bring a friend. This is a very fun event and a good networking opportunity! We are also seeking final round judges to evaluate and score our semifinalists to determine our top 5 winners. Final round judges will be asked to volunteer 1-2 hours of their personal time between March 5th and March 12th. The judging can be done from home or work via our new judging platform. All of our judges will be profiled on the contest page with a short biography and picture. It’s a great way to promote yourself and your company! Click here to sign up. YEI SPEAKERS BUREAU

The YEI Speakers Bureau is an all-volunteer based resource to support educators and program providers in Northeast Ohio. Volunteer speakers will be profiled on our YEI Speakers Bureau website page with a photo, short biography, speaking engagement preferences, and email. You decide when, where, and how often you’d like to volunteer. Teachers and program providers can contact you directly to schedule speaking engagements based on guidelines and preferences you provide. Click here to sign up.

TAKE STOCK IN YOUR FUTURE

JA is bringing the stock exchange to Lorain, Lake, Cuyahoga, and Geauga counties for a fun-filled, action-packed competition where high school students will have the opportunity to experience the feeling of standing on the trading floor of the NYSE. Teams of 4 to 5 students will learn to work together, leverage each other’s strengths, and use critical thinking skills while analyzing news articles and data during a high stakes and fierce competition. ST. ED’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY

Saint Edward Entrepreneurship Day, or SEED, is an even open to all high school students. SEED will showcase plenty of resources to start you on our path to entrepreneurial success with a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, and unique learning experiences! The event is at Saint Edward High School on May 4 from 8:30AM-2:00PM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Contact Steve Marcus for more information.

YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR SUMMER CAMP JUNE 10-14 AND JUNE 17-21 AT UNIVERSITY SCHOOL

Geared to middle school students with a high level of interest in entrepreneurship who will be entering grades 7-9. Through fun games, activities, group projects, and launching a small business, campers will learn business and marketing strategy, teamwork, and essential problem solving and leadership skills. OHIO BUSINESS WEEK JULY 21-27

Ohio Business Week is a week-long residential business and entrepreneurship camp for high school students at Ohio University. Students gain skills in leadership, presentation, teamwork, and communication; all skills that will be valuable to bring back to your school. Students can apply here.

SEED SPOT WEBINAR

Attendees will learn how to run a successful summer camp by mastering the art of teaching in a non-traditional space, aligning curriculum to meet student needs, leveraging the tools at their disposal, and empowering students outside of the traditional school year. SEED SPOT, a globally-ranked social impact incubator, will explain how their school partners have successfully deployed engaging summer programs that made a lasting impact in the lives of their middle and high school students.
