Over 300 people gathered for the 8th annual Celebration of Youth Entrepreneurship at University School on April 13. Keynote speaker Andrew Yang, CEO & Founder of Venture for America, was joined by 13 Cleveland-area Venture for America fellows. Prior to the evening presentation Andrew spoke to over 600 middle school and high school students from 20 Northeast Ohio schools. A book signing and Young Entrepreneur Market closed the event, with nearly 50 students selling their creations to attendees.

BizInnovator Competition is open to ANY high school student in grades 9-12. Students don’t need a business background to compete – just motivation, passion and a good idea. Students can use a new or existing business/invention/innovation idea OR build off an innovation developed from an existing program.
$1,500 – 1st place
$1,000 – 2nd place
$500 – 3rd place
Deadline to submit application and 1-page executive summary is Friday, April 29. Presented by Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship at the University of Iowa.
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS FOR YOUNG ADULTS – DALE CARNEGIE COURSE FOR TEENS
A course designed to build confidence, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills for students in grades 9-12. Class begins June 22 and meets Wednesdays from 6:00-9:15pm for eight weeks. Free preview session on June 8 from 6:00-7:45pm.
