Each spring University School hosts a free day-long event that brings together nearly 1,000 middle school and high school students. A nationally recognized young entrepreneur will present to students and ignite their inner entrepreneurial spirit.
Daytime Field Trip: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM, University School Hunting Valley Campus
Middle and high school classes in Northeast Ohio will have the opportunity to hear India Johnson, Founder and CEO of UAVistas. UAVistas is a company focused on environmental conservation and drone-based education. She will speak about her passion for ecological preservation and how she connected STEM education and entrepreneurship. Johnson graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2017. There are limited IN-PERSON spaces available to attend.
Evening Event: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM, University School Hunting Valley Campus
The evening event is open to the public and will feature a presentation and Q&A by FOUNT founders Phillip and Jackie Wachter. Phillip and Jackie Wachter are a husband and wife team, and the CoFounders of FOUNT, a Cleveland based luxury leather goods brand. The couple started the brand in 2014 in their Cleveland Heights apartment. FOUNT has since grown to five brick and mortar store locations and an online store. The word “FOUNT” by definition means “An abundant source of desirable quality.” That’s exactly what they are striving to create through FOUNT’s classic designs and heirloom quality bags and accessories, which are constructed from all Italian leather and solid brass hardware and intended to last a lifetime. Also at the evening event: a K-12 Pitch Challenge showcase featuring finalists from this year’s Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge, a Young Entrepreneur Market with student businesses showing off their homemade products, networking, awards, and more!
