YEI & KSU EDUCATOR RETREAT

Kick off the school year at this month’s Educator Retreat! Learn about entrepreneurial curriculum and programing for your classroom. The program will feature a professional development workshop, entrepreneurship education updates, networking and a light dinner.

VEALE HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATOR WORKSHOP

High school educators, join the Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum for a free workshop Thurs., Sept. 20 from 4:30-6:30 pm at Sears think[box] at CWRU. Speaker Brandon Cornuke (MAGNET, CWRU) will offer simple tools and techniques to help your students translate their ideas into successful business models. Speaker Xyla Foxlin (Parihug, Beauty & the Bolt) will offer hands-on advice on how to craft persuasive, effective business pitches, and how to replicate this workshop in a classroom setting for your students. NEW OPPORTUNITY! K-8 TEACHER COHORT

Young Entrepreneur Institute is offering an exciting new program this year. The YEI K-8 Teacher Cohort, funded by a grant from Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, is open to K-8th grade public school educators and will meet four times through this school year for in-depth study of how to build the entrepreneurial mindset in the classroom, using Lemonade Day curriculum as a framework. The Cohort will feature immersive workshops, peer-to-peer learning, tools for your classroom and much more. Participants will receive a small stipend and may be eligible for other compensation through their districts. For details and to apply click here.

ENTRE-ED FORUM – SEPT. 28-30

The National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education (EntreEd), is hosting their 2018 EntreEd Forum in Pittsburgh, PA on Sept. 28-30. The hands-on conference schedule includes a teacher-driven EdCamp, an educator pitch contest to bring cash back to your classroom, and tons of engaging keynote and breakout speakers in unique areas of education and entrepreneurship. SELLING BEE PRE-REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Selling Bee, a video pitch contest open to all K-8 students in Northeast Ohio, returns October 1-November 12. Students develop a business idea, create a short pitch, and upload a video of themselves presenting the pitch.

STEM ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION FORUMS

Entrepreneurial Engagement Ohio invites your high school students (some middle school availability) to attend one of seven extraordinary programs to be held on seven college campuses throughout Northeast Ohio in October and November. The forum will open your students’ eyes to the future, inspire them to “think outside the box,” and allow them to discuss innovation with college faculty and researchers.
